Why This Grant?

We already have a laser engraver, and given the popularity of the class, we need the rotary attachment. Our students use our engraver on a number of projects. This allows students to cut and engrave round projects in advanced manufacturing courses. It has been a fun new experience for students to learn how to create and set up files to cut on a round part.

Students expressed interest in being able to create and produce customized stainless steel coffee cups. Having this attachment allows students to see and experience what is possible for them in manufacturing.

Status: funded in May 2024, fully in use in SY 2024-2025.
